Can I charter a yacht in Monaco for a single day?
Yes, and it is the most common way people start. A day from Port Hercule runs from €1,500 for a day boat to €6,600 for a flybridge motor yacht and €10,000 upward for a crewed superyacht, skipper and — on most boats — fuel included.
A day works because the Riviera is compact. Aboard mid-morning, west past Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche or east toward Menton, anchor for a swim where the water is clear, lunch at a beach club the skipper has already called ahead about, and back as the light goes. Nothing about it requires a licence, experience or a week of your calendar.
It is also the honest way to find out what size of yacht you actually like before committing to a week. Most people discover they care less about length than about shade, a swim platform and how the boat behaves in an afternoon chop — and those are answered in one afternoon, not in a brochure.
Peak Saturdays in July and August go early, and Grand Prix and Yacht Show weeks are a different market altogether. Outside those, a day can often be arranged at a few days’ notice.
