Chartering a yacht in Monte-Carlo costs from €1,500 a day for a day boat (excluding fuel) and from €10,000 for a crewed superyacht; by the week a 20–30 m motor yacht is published at €25,000 – €65,000 and a 30–40 m superyacht at €65,000 – €180,000, exclusive of APA (25–35%) and VAT (20%). Every charter leaves from Port Hercule — 760 berths, basin 2.50 to 55 m — with no positioning leg.
Monte-Carlo is Monaco at its most theatrical: the Casino, the Hôtel de Paris and the Carré d'Or rising directly above the berths. Step off the passerelle and you are among the principality's best tables and rooms within minutes.
It is the obvious base for the Grand Prix and the yacht-show season, and a glamorous bookend to any cruise west along the coast.
Why berth a yacht in Monte-Carlo?
Few berths put you closer to the action than Monte-Carlo. The Casino square, the Hôtel de Paris and the boutiques of the Carré d'Or sit a short walk from the quay, so a yacht here is a private base for evenings ashore as much as days at sea. Guests can dress for dinner, step off the passerelle, and be at the table in minutes — then return to the calm of their own deck over the harbour.
For hosting, the setting is unmatched: drinks on deck as the lights come up over the principality, the harbour as your terrace, and the whole of Monte-Carlo within reach without a car.
Where can a yacht cruise from Monte-Carlo?
Lying within Port Hercule, Monte-Carlo shares Monaco's reach: Cap-Ferrat, Villefranche and Beaulieu to the west within the hour, Menton and the Italian Riviera to the east. It is the natural base for the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show, and a glamorous start or finish to a longer cruise toward Saint-Tropez or Portofino.
A typical day might begin with a late-morning departure, a swim stop off Cap-Ferrat or in the sheltered bay of Villefranche, lunch at anchor, and a return to the harbour in time to dress for the evening ashore — the rare combination that makes Monte-Carlo both a cruising base and a destination in itself.
What does a Monte-Carlo evening from the yacht look like?
The appeal of a berth here is the walk. From the quay of Port Hercule a flight of steps and five minutes on foot reach the Place du Casino, the Hôtel de Paris and the Café de Paris; the Opéra and the boutiques of the Carré d'Or are another two. Guests dress on board, step off the passerelle and are at the table without a car, then return to a deck that looks back over the whole lit harbour. For a host it means one address for the entire evening — drinks aboard, dinner ashore, the last glass on deck — with the crew keeping the yacht as the quiet centre of it.
The same geography makes Monte-Carlo the natural base for the principality's two big weeks. During the Grand Prix the harbour is the circuit's inner edge, and during the Monaco Yacht Show in September it is the show itself; in both cases the berth is the asset, reserved months ahead, and the yacht barely needs to move.
Is a day from Monte-Carlo different from a day from Monaco?
Not on the water — Monte-Carlo is the quarter above the harbour, and every yacht leaves from the same Port Hercule. The difference is the rhythm ashore. A Monte-Carlo day tends to start later and end later: a swim off Cap-Ferrat before lunch, an afternoon at anchor in the bay of Villefranche or off Beaulieu, and a return timed for the evening in the casino quarter rather than the sunset. Guests who want the beach clubs of the Larvotto can be dropped by tender almost at the door of the hotels.

When is the best time to charter a yacht in Monte-Carlo?
Recommended season: April–October.
The Riviera charter season runs April to October. In Monte-Carlo demand peaks twice: around the Grand Prix in late May, when a yacht on Port Hercule becomes a trackside terrace, and during the Monaco Yacht Show (23–26 September 2026, source: the organiser), when berths are the scarce item. Early summer and September outside show week give the same sea with better availability.
