How much does a yacht charter cost in Monaco in 2026?

A crewed motor yacht of 20–30 m charters for €25,000 – €65,000 a week from Monaco, and the published brackets rise to €280,000 – €800,000+ a week above 45 m. A day on the water runs from about €1,500 for a day boat to €10,000 and up for a crewed superyacht. Add APA of 25–35% for running costs and VAT at 20% on charters starting in France or Monaco. The tables below give the figures by size, with the public source and retrieval date for each.

What the price is made of

Charter fee

The weekly or daily rate above: the yacht, its captain and crew, and the standard equipment aboard. On a MYBA contract the fee is fixed before you board.

APA — 25–35% of the fee

The Advance Provisioning Allowance is paid up front and spent by the captain on fuel, berthing and harbour dues, food and drink. It is accounted for line by line and any balance is returned. Across MYBA listings the median sits at 35%; motor yachts run higher than sailing yachts.

VAT — 20%

Charters starting in France are subject to French VAT at the standard 20% rate; since 1 November 2020 the charter fee is in principle fully taxable in France, with the portion sailed outside EU waters exempt on proof. Monaco collects VAT on the same bases and at the same rates as France, so a Monaco departure is also at 20%.

Crew gratuity — 5–15%

Customary, not contractual. MYBA guidance is 5 to 15% of the gross charter fee, paid to the captain at the end of the charter.

Take the bottom of the 30–40 m bracket, €65,000 for the week:

APA items are bought at cost and carry their own VAT on the receipts; the exact VAT treatment depends on the itinerary and is confirmed in the quote.

When Monaco is most — and least — expensive

The Riviera charter season runs from April to October. Demand and rates peak twice: around the Monaco Grand Prix in late May, when a yacht on Port Hercule becomes a trackside terrace, and around the Monaco Yacht Show (23 September–26 September 2026), when berths in the harbour are the scarce item. For those weeks brokers price close to high season and the best-positioned yachts go first.
