What a superyacht charter costs

Superyacht charters are quoted as a weekly base fee that scales with length, age and specification — from roughly the mid five figures per week for a smaller 40-metre yacht to several hundred thousand euros for the largest and newest. On top of the base fee sit the APA (usually 25–35% for fuel, food, berths and drink), local VAT where applicable, and a customary crew gratuity.

The MYBA process for large yachts

Every superyacht charter runs on the MYBA contract, the industry standard that sets out the yacht, the dates, the fee and the responsibilities of each party. Once you choose a yacht we confirm availability, issue the contract and collect the APA, with a deposit securing the booking. A preference sheet then captures everything from dietary needs and favourite wines to celebrations and water-toy requests.

This structure is what keeps a large charter effortless: the detail is agreed in writing in advance, the captain provisions to your preferences, and the APA is reconciled with a full accounting at the end of the week.

Booking and timing

The best superyachts and the prime Monaco berths are the scarcest commodity on the coast, so the earlier we begin the better the choice. For a summer week we ideally start months ahead; for the Grand Prix in late May or the Monaco Yacht Show in September, the leading yachts and trackside berths are often reserved a year in advance. Shoulder-season weeks in May, June and September offer the same warm sea with far more flexibility.
